Sharon Barnhardt is Director of CESS Nuffield – FLAME University and its Principal Investigator for Economics and Public Policy. She uses natural and randomized experiments to study nutrition, housing and sanitation in India. Her current research includes measuring the impact of iron-fortified, iodized salt on anaemia in rural Bihar and improving the sustainability of community sanitation in slums in Odisha. Sharon is also Faculty Affiliate at the Jameel Abdul Latif Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) and the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA, Bonn).
co-Director & PI for Law, Management and Sociology
Pavan Mamidi is the Director of International Research Collaborations for the Centre for Experimental Social Sciences (CESS) Nuffield – FLAME University and the Principal Investigator for Law, Sociology, and Management at FLAME University. He is interested in investigating social norms, trust, pro-social behavior and behavioral ethics using laboratory experiments. Pavan has an LL.M. from Harvard Law School and a D. Phil in Sociology from the University of Oxford.
Andrés L. Parrado is the Research Manager for the CESS Nuffield – FLAME University collaboration. Before joining FLAME University, Andrés worked as a Research Consultant with faculty at the Indian Institute of Management – Ahmedabad and the Blavatnik School of Government (Oxford). He holds a B.A. in East Asian Studies from Princeton University. As an Undergraduate Research Fellow at the Princeton Institute for International and Regional Studies (PIIRS), he researched Chinese immigration to non-traditional locations like Serbia.
Radhika Mitra has been a Research Associate with CESS Nuffield – FLAME University since January 2017. She recently graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science, where she earned a MSc. in Development Studies, with a focus in Gender and Demography. Prior to working with CESS Nuffield – FLAME University, Radhika worked with the Grameen Bank in Dhaka to assess the microfinance model of lending and borrowing amongst low income households in Bangladesh. Her current research interests lie within the domain of gender and health policy.
Shardul Vaidya is a Research Associate at CESS Nuffield-FLAME University. He oversees the technical aspects of the lab as well as the design and deployment of economic games for experiments. He holds a B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from IIT Bombay. As an undergraduate, Shardul previously worked with the strategy teams at Disney India and the Aditya Birla Group.
Vijeta Pamnani is the Executive Assistant at CESS Nuffield – FLAME University. She joined the team at FLAME University in February 2016. Vijeta previously worked as an Expat Relocation Manager, a role in which she assisted Expats relocating to India on a long term project to settle in the country with regards to their housing, immigration status, city orientation, and schooling for children. She holds a B.A. from Pune University and a Diploma in Hotel Management. She has a total work experience of 13 years in the service industry.
